Commentary
If there had ever been any doubt that there was one God, the scripture removes all doubt. These are just a few of the Bible scriptures pertaining to God's identity.
Jehovah of the Old Testament fashions Himself a body and comes to earth as Jesus of the New Testament
(Isaiah 12:2-3)
Jesus said that he came in his Father's name (John 5:43), and that God would send the Comforter (Holy Ghost) in his name (John 14:26).
In the Old Testament, God had many different titles for the attributes and character by which he revealed himself to men. In the New Testament, he reveals himself for the attribute of salvation through the name Jesus.
To say that there are three Gods and not one is like saying there are three of me for each function that I have: daughter, mother, wife.
There's only one me.
There's only one God.
- That the Holy Bible is God's Word
- That the Bible is the authority on the subject of Diety, Salvation and Life
- That by the Word of God Jesus is God in the flesh according to Genesis 1:1, John 1:1-14, I Timothy 3:16 and Hebrews 1:1-3
- That the Plan of Salvation for the New Testament Church begins in Acts 2, specifically, Acts 2:38 which states, "Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
